panel construction
Doors, partitions, pilasters and headrail inserts are manufactured in accordance with BS4965, using high pressure laminate(to BS EN 438) bonded to both sides of either high density chipboard for dry conditions or exterior grade MDF or WBP plywood for wet conditions.
All panels with the exception of partitions and side wall pilasters are pre-drilled to accept hardware fittings – so the number of on-site operations is minimised and completion of the installation is made more quickly and efficiently.
panel edge treatments
Cubase™ HPL square edge: All square edge panels are manufactured with a choice of either directly matching high pressure laminate or coordinating plain colour 2mm thickness pvc protective edge treatment. The pvc edges are given a radius for a smooth, safe finish, providing excellent impact resistance for the cubicle.
Cubase™ HPL post-formed: The use of post-forming grade laminate to BS EN 438 allows the long edges of pilasters and headrail inserts to be curved to a 12mm radius, a feature which provides extra safety, and thanks to its pleasing rounded appearance and continuity of colour, aesthetic enhancement as well.
Where post-forming is not used, all remaining edges of partitions and door panels can be finished with 2mm pvc edging or decorative laminate.
maintenance
No material is completely maintenance free, but the cubase™ system gets as near to it as practically possible. Most stains can be simply removed with a damp cloth and even more stubborn stains, such as oil or felt tip pen, will respond to a damp cloth and mild detergent or, if necessary, an organic solvent. The panels are designed to resist the attention of vandals, but replacement panels are available in the event of severe or persistent abuse.
This interchangeability also makes it simple to change the colour of the panels during refurbishment. Similarly, upgrades from a square edge to a post-formed design for instance, or, indeed, a change of the overall performance or design parameters of the cubicle, can also be easily achieved.
