cubase™ tubular
‘hardware and fittings’
The cubase™ tubular cubicle system features a range of specially designed supports and fittings made to the same high quality standards as all other elements of the cubase™ range.
The standard hardware is manufactured from extruded, die cast and pressed aluminium (for integral strength and corrosion resistance), and allows the designer the same unequalled variety of choice in design as the cubicle panels, ensuring that the completed installation is as functional and elegant as the original concept in every detail.
intermediate tubular columns
Manufactured from heavy gauge aluminium tube, each column incorporates as part of its structure 3 cubicle hinges, the door jamb, the bolt keep, the head rail connector, the full height partition channel and an innovative pedestal. All tubular columns can be extended in height to allow a floor to ceiling construction.
pedestals
An integral component within each column. They feature a universal joint allowing them to be firmly fitted to any gradient of floor without the need for unsightly shims and wedges. This means that the column can be freely moved in any direction to achieve a perfectly upright position which is securely fixed by the headrail and bracing cap.
pivot hinges
Manufactured from aluminium with nylon cams to give a quiet, smooth action. They are adjustable to allow the door to fall open or closed and open either inwards or outwards, the latter is a particular benefit in cubicles for disabled people.
Doors fitted with these hinges are equipped to resist the worst efforts of vandals, but in an emergency, they can be lifted off by authorised personnel.
door jambs
Constructed from full height aluminium angle and are permanently secured to the centre point of the column to provide a clean, flush fitting appearance for the cubicle doors. Compared to pilaster panels, the tubular door jambs offer greater entry dimensions for easy access.
side wall tubular columns
Provides the same structural functions as the intermediate tubular columns and also provide a strong connection to the side walls. This is achieved by the articulation of two channels which can be adjusted to accommodate misaligned walls.
partition channels
Feature full height sections to firmly connect the partition to the rear wall and to the front columns. The channels are manufactured from aluminium and are deep enough to allow for any reasonable discrepancies in the construction of the rear wall.
Apart from the extra strength, the full height channel creates a cleaner appearance and a greater sense of privacy compared to the usual 3 separate brackets used on many other cubicle systems.
headrails
Constructed using a unique extruded aluminium box section which is immensely strong and provides complete rigidity to the cubicle through its permanent attachment to the tubular column. The box section incorporates a deep leading edge which allows the full height door to close flush behind that part of the headrail.
bracing caps
Completes the connection of the headrails to the tubular columns, ensuring a perfect fit and exceptional toughness.
toilet roll holders
Available as an option. Practical and realistically priced, they incorporate an anti theft device.
All hardware supports and fittings are available with either powder coated, polished or satin anodised aluminium. All screw and bolt fittings are of stainless steel for maximum resistance to corrosion. All hardware supports and fittings are carefully protected and labelled to assist on-site storage and location.
indicator bolts
minimalist by design, with only one moving part for added reliability. The indicator face plate has the clearest of engaged/occupied symbols and includes a fast action emergency release mechanism that integrates with its simplistic circular form.
The bolt is operated by an easy to grip aluminium handle, into which a rubber buffer is incorporated to prevent the door from accidentally slamming into the partition.
